          matt came to middlesex in 2002 from harvard university, where he worked 13 years and completed his tenure there as as assistant director of financial aid and senior admissions officer. he completed his bachelor’s degree in medieval history at harvard college and later earned his m.ed. from harvard’s graduate school of education. in addition to his work in the college office, matt is head of robert winsor house and resides there with his wife and four children.  he has also coached the girls’ basketball teams for ten years.  outside of middlesex, matt has been involved with regional and national issues on all facets of the college admissions process.  he is currently the president of the boston independent schools college counseling association.  he was  on the sat committee for three years, serving as the first secondary school person to be the chair of the committee.  he is a founding member of the association of college counselors in independent schools, serving on the executive committee for five years, as well as the co-chair of the communications committee.  he is also a member of the coalition counselor community for the coalition for access, affordability, and success.  in addition, he has spoken at national and regional conferences on college athletics, electronic submission, high achieving girls, standardized testing practices, recommendation writing, and communication models.

          with experience at both the secondary and university levels, sam started his career in education as an admissions representative in the harvard college admissions office.  he then moved down the road to boston university’s admissions office for six years, becoming a senior assistant director. over the next four years, sam was a senior associate director in the college counseling office at choate rosemary hall, where he has also co-taught a course in music production, coached squash, and managed a dorm. he is also involved with the association of college counselors in independent schools, serving on the the communications committee as the sub-committee chair of the accis blog, admitall. sam holds a b.a. in english from connecticut college and studied piano and voice at the berklee college of music. in addition to his work in the college office, sam is the assistant varsity golf coach and live in landry house with his wife and their three children.

          natalie came to middlesex in 2002 from episcopal high school in alexandria, virginia, where she taught physics and pre-calculus, served as a dorm parent and an advisor, and coached varsity field hockey and lacrosse. after receiving a b.s. in mechanical engineering from tufts university, she earned an m.s. in civil engineering at the university of virginia. she captained both the field hockey and lacrosse teams at tufts, was a national all-american player, and played for the division i lacrosse team at the university of virginia.  natalie taught physics and pre-calculus at middlesex from 2002-2016.  in the fall of 2016, natalie moved to the college office as the associate director of college counseling. in addition to her work in the college office, natalie coaches varsity field hockey and lacrosse at middlesex and serves as a head of house in kravis. as a role model for middlesex girls who are interested in the sciences, she holds the zak family chair in physical science. natalie’s father graduated from middlesex in 1961, and her husband david graduated in 1995.
